Google Authenticator has added the ability to backup one-time codes to your Google Account on iOS and Android. This solves the issue of lost or stolen devices that had Google Authenticator installed, as one-time codes were only stored on that device. With this update, one-time codes are stored safely in users’ Google Account, providing better protection from lockout and increasing convenience and security for users.
